William “Bill”‘s Obituary William J. “Bill” Hammond, 62, Perkinsville, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at his home following a couragous battle with cancer. He was born on July 10, 1956, in Noblesville to Parvin and Dorothy Marie (Cunningham) Hammond. Bill was graduated from Frankton High School in 1974 and served in the U. S. Air Force.

He retired in 2009 from the former Bridgestone/Firestone in Noblesville. Bill loved motorcycles, the outdoors and especially his family. He was a member of the Frankton American Legion Post and a proud member of the United Steel Workers Local 138L He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Parker); two children, Brandon J. (Jessica) Hammond and Jenny Leigh Hammond; two brothers, Glynn and Ralph (Jeanie) Hammond; and a sister, Cathy (Michael) Irwin.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating.

Burial will follow in Perkinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
