OBITUARY William “Bill” Joseph Karel February 23, 1933 – December 23, 2018 William “Bill” Joseph Karel was born February 23, 1933 in Madison, Nebraska to William and Vlasta Karel. Bill passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 23rd, 2018. Bill proudly served the country he loved in the United States Air Force for 4 years from 1953-1957.

He achieved the rank of Airman First Class. After he was honorably discharged, Bill studied and graduated from The University of Texas and worked as an Accountant for 50 years. His retirement from accounting was short lived as Bill was a volunteer at Northwest Cypress Medical Center for ten years.

He also worked the past three years at Home Depot simultaneously to his volunteer duties. Bill was a devoted and loving husband to his surviving wife of 37 years, Evelyn Karel. He is also survived by his five children William Karel Jr., Cindy Stubblefield, Vikki Karel, Scott Karel, Wade Karel and two step daughters Ann Garcia and Deborah Markiewicz.

He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also, siblings Marcella Karel Hoffman and Stanley Karel. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Vlasta and two siblings Arlene Karel Nechodom and Edwin Karel.
