WIlliam “Bill”‘s Obituary William “Bill” Kenneth Krumm Jr., 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 26, 2018. He was born on March 28, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY to William Kenneth, Sr. and Charlotte Gladys (Ruehle) Krumm, grew up in Hicksville, Long Island, NY, and moved to Fort Wayne, IN in 1988. Bill served his country honorably in the Seabees as part of MCB133 from 1970-1976 and was stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi and Subic Bay in the Philippines.

He was an entrepreneur and mentor for all of his life. He owned and operated Custom Canvas & Awnings in North Webster for the past 30 years. He was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hicksville, NY and Bethlehem and Holy Cross Lutheran in Fort Wayne.

Bill believed in living a MAAAUVELOUS life. He enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with his best friend, and wife of 45 years, as well as, spending time with family and friends, who inevitably came to feel like family. He would often drive hours just to spend minutes with those he loved.

Bill loved watching his favorite sport, wrestling, hunting and bird watching, fishing and spending time on the water. He liked to undertake construction projects of various sizes, from designing chicken walker replicas to building the Lake House, and using any and every heavy piece of equipment he could get his hands on. One of his greatest joys was giving his grandkids rides on the tractor or bobcat, and instilling in them the Bill Krumm work ethic… and last but not least, raising a steer…”Chuck the cow”.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy (Schultz) Krumm; children, Gretchen Krumm, Stephanie (Darin) Flannery, Emilie (Tim) Gerbers; grandchildren, Eve Mills, Jonathan and Kate Flannery, Rhaya and William Gerbers; sister, Sandra (Tom) DiPasqua; niece, Susan of Scarborough, Maine; and brother, Philip Krumm of Bellmore, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Bill’s honor Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6318 W California Road, Fort Wayne, IN.

Pastor Bill Mueller and Pastor Alex Duff will officiate. Family and friends will be received from 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the church on Thursday, February 7, 2019 and also one hour prior to the service on Friday. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
