Lois’ Obituary Lois Jean Ritter, 86, of Ligonier, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at The Maples in Goshen. Lois was born on June 5, 1932 in Franklin, OH to the late Douglas A. and Elda (Smallwood) Mehl. She married Donald E. Ritter in 1950 in Ligonier.

He passed away on July 28, 2003. Lois moved to Ligonier in 1946 from Middletown, OH. She worked at Silgan, Superior Sample, Es Wire and retired from Tower Trophies in 2003.

Lois attended Stone’s Hill Community Church and enjoyed sewing and making cloths for her family. Lois is survived by daughters, Brenda Ritter of Goshen, Deborah (Jim) Burton of Nina, FL, Pam (Jack) Billger of New Paris; son Chad (Val) Ritter of Syracuse, several grand and great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim Mehl of Ligonier, Tom Mehl of Milford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald E. Ritter; daughter, Denise Frey; brothers, David and Bill Mehl and sister Shirley Lower.

Cremation will occur at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. A graveside service will take place at 11 am Friday, February 15that Oak Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Center for Cancer, 200 High Park Ave, Goshen, IN 46527.
