William “Bill”‘s Obituary William “Bill” Randolph died on May 6, 2019 in Florida, after a long illness, with his wife and daughter at his side as he went home to Jesus. Bill was born in Petersburg, Virginia to Ernest “Lightning” Randolph and Mildred “Millie” Randolph June 6, 1944. Just after graduation from Leavenworth High School in 1962, he joined the Army, later joined National Guard, then he was accepted at Kansas State Penitentiary, Lansing.

After several years working there, he became captain “Boots”. He enjoyed all of the above. His favorite pastime was fishing as a child and as an adult.

His favorite was bass tournaments. He and his son Clinton often took the boat out to fish all day, at times ice fishing in winter. Bill loved his pet dogs and cats.

He loved birds who nested on his porch and the hummingbirds who found nectar there every season, plus lots of flowers to feed bees and butterflies pollen. Bill married Judith Johanson in 1965. Born to that marriage was Clinton Randolph and Amanda Randolph, who survive.

Also surviving are his sister Gloria Crockett, sister Patricia Gilreath, sister Linda Nelson, brother Randy Randolph, Nephew Brian Crockett, Grand Nephews Phillip, and Brice, grand nieces Christina and Paiton. I am Billy’s sister Gloria and I want to salute him for being a U.S. Veteran, being National Guard, for being a man who stood and saluted our flag. I will miss his many chats and our cups of tea.
