Obituary for William “Bill” T. McMeekin William “Bill” T. McMeekin age 69 of Millville, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Queens, NY to the late Harold and Margaret (McConekey) McMeekin, he grew up in New York and North Jersey, and graduated from Bogota High School. He also attended Eastern Military Academy in Cold Spring Hills, Long Island, NY, and Cumberland County College.

Bill worked in the automotive industry for most of his life. He began his career as a diesel mechanic and moved on to become the service manager for several South Jersey car dealerships. He ended his career as a commercial truck salesman for Barlow Chevrolet in Delran where he retired.

He was a member of the Fairton Christian Center. Bill was a former Commander of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 34. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed boating, especially on the Chesapeake Bay, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Mary Jane (Barney); his son Eric Nelson of Little Egg Harbor Twp. ; and three grandchildren, Sydney, and twins Jesse and Haley. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
