William “Bud” Sweeney July 30, 1931 – May 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries William Henry “Bud” Sweeney, son of the late James Sweeney and Sybil Fondren Sweeney was born July 30, 1931 in Tyronza, Arkansas and departed this life on May 28, 2019 at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 28 days. Bud was married to Mary Nell Maddox in 1949. He was blessed with two children: Sue (Kent) Reynolds of Hayti, Missouri Willliam Wayne Sweeney who preceded him in death.

August 3, 1979 Bud married Alma Jeanne (Gardner) Hulsey of Kennett, Missouri Eleven grandchildren: Lance Adams of Benton, Missouri, Matt Sweeney of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Stephen Sweeney of Crandall, Texas, Tara Warren of Portageville, Missouri, Brooke Wichman of Parkville, Missouri, Koby Reynolds of Caruthersville, Missouri, Kaleigh Merideth of Sikeston, Missouri, Karrah Wood of Kansas City, Missouri, Kameryn Graham of Sikeston, Missouri, Jacob Way of China and Hannah Stanley of Fort Worth, Texas Eleven great grandchildren One sister: Barbara Philbrick of Lahoma, Oklahoma Two stepdaughters: Marla (Rick) Wood of Sikeston, Missouri Beth (Mark) Way of Heath, Texas Daughter-in-law: Donna Sweeney of Crandall, Texas, widow of William Sweeney. Other relatives and many friends. Bud was preceded in death by three brothers: James Herbert Sweeney, Charles Everett Sweeney and Jimmy Dewayne Sweeney and sister: Geneva Faye Gilbert.

Bud was a farmer both in Arkansas and Missouri and worked for Fletcher Gin Company before retiring. He was a member of Kennett First Baptist Church where he served as greeter, choir member, usher and van driver in his churches. Bud was a true servant of the Lord and loved children and people in general.

He will sorely be missed by many friends and family members. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett.

Reverend’s Ardell Polk, Mark Hoover and Gene Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Perry Gooch, Wayne Jacques, Jarrett Warren, Koby Reynolds, Jeff Wichman and Kent Reynolds.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Missouri will be in charge of the arrangements. Online cowww.
