Obituary for William C. “Bill” Neil Jr. William C. “Bill” Neil, Jr., 74, of Newville, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Born Sunday, November 12, 1944 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late William C. “Chet” and Ruth Ellen Fields Neil, Sr. Bill was a 1962 graduate of the Shippensburg Area High School. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War.

He was the owner/operator of WCN Auto Body Shop in Newville. Bill was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God where he taught the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, both in Shippensburg, and he was an avid horse lover.

Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Phyllis A. Tolley Neil whom he married September 16, 1991, one daughter Bethany A. (Brent) Woodward, Carlisle, several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard R. Neil, Sr., and one sister, Joyce Lynch. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Green Spring First Church of God, with Pastor Philip Steele officiating.

Burial will be in the Green Spring First Church of God Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 Minutemen. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the Church. The Neil family would like to give a special thanks to Karrie Peterson and the entire Cardiac Special Care Unit at Geisinger Holy Spirit for the love and outstanding care they provided.
