William Earl “Billy” Johnson, age 67, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of the late Pamela Jean Rose Johnson, departed this life Monday afternoon, September 24, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. Services are incomplete. Mr. Johnson was born June 25, 1951 in Eads, Tennessee.

He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a resident of the Mason Community for ten years. He was married December 19, 1980 to the former Pamela Jean Rose and he was a member of the Gallaway Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson was employed as a diesel mechanic for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) for over 40 years before his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, tractor pulls and attending go-cart races. Mr. Johnson is survived by four daughters, Jennifer Johnson of Memphis, TN, Sara Johnson of Somerville, TN, Andrea Johnson of Arlington, TN, Angela Johnson of Eads, TN; his son, Anthony Denniston (Catrina) of Oakland, TN; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Pamela Jean Rose Johnson who died March 3, 2007 and his parents, James Earl Johnson and Naomi Cates Johnson.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Gallaway Baptist Church, 377 Main Street, Gallaway, TN 38036.
