William F. Snyder, 84, of Williamsburg, Virginia, formerly of Apollo, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Williamsburg. Mr. Snyder was a graduate of Apollo High School, Class of 1951; Grove City College, 1961, and earned his Master’s Degree from Westminster College, 1965. He served in the USMC during the Korean War.

Mr. Snyder was a teacher for forty five years, teaching Speech and Theatre, producing and directing forty years of plays and musicals in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Mr. Snyder was the son of the late Murch A. and Priscilla D. Snyder of Apollo. He was pre-deceased by his parents; his daughter Hollie L. Snyder; sisters Lura Martin, Louise California, and brothers, Eugene, Lester, Paul and Murch Snyder.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol L. Snyder; his sons William F. Snyder, Jr. (Cheryl) of Allison Park; Timothy S. Snyder (Jennifer) of St. Louis, Missouri; a grandson and a granddaughter, and two stepgrandsons. Mr. Snyder is also survived by his brothers, Robert of Apollo and Richard (Deborah) of Aurora, Ohio. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME Inc., Robert P. Karish, Supervisor, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Burial, with full military honors by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor guard, will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. www.
