William’s Obituary William G. Daigh, 102 of Taylorville passed away at 7:55a.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Taylorville Care Center. He was born on July 10, 1916 in Taylorville, the son of William W. and Charlotte N. (Glover) Daigh. He married Lillian Marcella Ettinger on January 1, 1937 and she preceded him in death on October 1, 2009.

Bill was a prominent financial businessman in Taylorville for many years as well as co-owned Marcella’s dress shop on the square for many years. In 1965 he designed and built the Daigh Apartments. In his spare time, he loved to fish, both locally and in Canada.

He is survived by his children: Tracy L. Daigh and David F. Daigh both of Taylorville; grandchildren: David Siegrist (Megan), Bradley Siegrist (Abby), Madison Basil (Cody), Michael Daigh, Mitchel Daigh (Cicily), Matthew Daigh (Jesse Stork), and Hailee Daigh; great grandchildren: Brockton, Finnley, Chandler, Annie, Emmylou, and Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter: Janet Sue Daigh; sister: Katherine Daigh Mason; and brother: James Daigh. A private family funeral service was held with Sr. Rose McKeown officiating.

Burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
