Obituary for William George Hartman William George Hartman 58, of Northfield, IL, formerly of Lake Forest, IL passed away on June 1, 2018 from glioblastoma. Bill grew up in Northbrook, IL, the son of Ann Hartman Brown and the late George H. Hartman Jr He attended Glenbrook North High School and Drake University (member ATO).

Bill spent most of his career in sales and marketing but found his true passion when he joined North Chicago Community Partners which provides school enrichment programs and community services to the underserved community of North Chicago. Bill was an inspiration to many in his ability to live a life of grace, compassion and kindness. His optimism, unique energy and playfulness made him a lot of fun to be around.

Bill was a Little League pitcher, varsity tennis player, hockey player, and sailor. Bill loved Michigan and spent his vacations at White Lake & Glen Lake (hunting for Petoskey stones). Most of all he loved being with his family and friends.

Bill was a member of Christ Church in Lake Forest. He was a passionate man of faith infused with the spirit of giving. He spent much of his free time volunteering as a Sunday school teacher, a leader for Alpha, at LOVE Inc., A Just Harvest, and First Tee.

Bill was a caring, funny and ever-present father. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by daughters Ashley (Cort) Rippentrop and Annie Hartman, beloved Beth Bartlett and her daughter Katie Grundin, mother Ann Hartman (Larry) Brown, brothers Jim (Paul Fritsch) and Tom (Espie) Hartman, nephews Daniel (Nicole), Bob (Hillary), Ken, George, and David Hartman, two great nieces Eve and Leigh Hartman and large extended family and friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ryan Merrell and team (Melody, Inna, Selma) at Kellogg Cancer Center & JourneyCare for their expert care and support.

A Celebration of Life service will be held June 8th at Christ Church, 100 N. Waukegan Road in Lake Forest at 1:30pm.
