Mr. William “Thad” Hammonds of 5307 West McDuffie Crossing Road, Lumberton, NC, departed this life on Tuesday July 3, 2018 He was preceded in death by his parents; Rev. J.E. and Marie Hammond’s. William leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 57 Years, Idell Hammonds of the home.

His son, William and Darlene Hammonds of Lumberton. His granddaughter, Tiffany Hammonds and fiancé Tobby Oxendine. His grandson, Johnathon Hammonds.

His step grandchildren, Willie and Cordiena Sanderson. And two special Great granddaughter’s, Kaitlyn and Jacinda Oxendine, all of Lumberton. Two brothers; Lee E. Hammonds of Lumberton and Eugene (Evelyn) Hammonds of Maxton.

Two sisters; Mary Uzel of Virginia, and Sylvia Pieper of Lumberton. William was the oldest founding members of west saddletree Baptist Church. He along with his wife, where two of the first members who helped to build the Church.
