Connor, 82, died Sunday surrounded by his family in Heritage Hall East Unit C. Bill was born in Hartford, grew up in Windsor Locks and has lived in Feeding Hills for the past 53 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and worked as a diesel mechanic for 34 years at Arrow Bus Company. He was a graduate of Litchfield Academy, an avid car enthusiast and all around “Jack of all trades”.
He was known to call everyone “Ace” or “Smiley”. Bill leaves his wife of 58 years Alice (Smith) Connor; a daughter Tina M. Glushien and her partner George F. Shean Jr; three grandchildren Joel Glushien and his fiancé Britney NIchols, Nathan Shean and his fiancé Kyla Moquin and Lydia Shean; a great grandchild “on the way”; and his brother John. Sadly, he was predeceased by a son William J. Connor Jr. in 1968 and his sisters Joan and Judy Connor.
The family would like to thank Heritage Hall East Unit C for the excellent care and compassion given. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday at noon followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service on Friday from 11:00am – Noon.
