OBITUARY William J. Hudash December 26, 1957 – November 14, 2018 William J. Hudash, 60, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. William was born to Dr. Raymond and Joan (Crist) on December 26, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois.

He graduated from Glenbrook North high school in Northbrook, Illinois, and then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Iowa and was an avid Hawkeye fan. William met the love of his life, Kay Blunck, and in 1987 they were united in marriage. Bill enjoyed golfing, photography, and traveling.

One of his passions was scuba diving in Cozumel, Mexico. He was known as a “gentle giant” as his kind heart loved nothing more than being with his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kay; sister, Gail Hudash-Wadley of Iowa City; brothers, Ray (Julie) Hudash, Jr. of California and Ron (Tracy) Hudash of Florida; and 12 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Dottie; sister, Janet Pauley; and niece, Grace Ohrtman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
