William J. Smith Jr. age 54 of Houston passed away unexpectedly Friday July 27, 2018 in Canonsburg General Hospital Canonsburg. He was born November 1, 1963 in Canonsburg a son of Bertha Dupesko Smith of Canonsburg and the late William J. Smith Sr Mr. Smith lived most of his life in Canonsburg and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

He was a 1981 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and Computer Tech. Bill was employed at the Canonsburg Shop N’ Save as a computer technician at the time of his death. He was a beloved father who was dedicated to raising his children.

Left behind to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother are his son, William J. Smith III of Houston two daughters, Heather L. Smith of Houston and Samantha Smith of Claysville, two sisters; Kelly Garove and her husband Terry of Strabane and Julie Grego of Champion and Aruba, a brother George J. Smith and his wife Heather of Canonsburg, a nephew Terry “TJ” Garove Jr. (Sarah Rodi), two nieces; Amanda Garove and Olivia Sonson, a great niece Shiloh Garove, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends and family are welcome from 2-8pm on Tuesday July 31, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, Darla Tripoli LFD 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited Wednesday August 1, 2018 followed by a mass of Christian Burial with times to be announced. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
