William Luther “Billy” Atkinson, age 51, of Britton, MI, passed away, January 4, 2019, at Michigan Medicine. He was born July 22, 1967, in Tecumseh, MI, the son of William F. & Elvie (Cole) Atkinson. Billy worked as a roofer and various jobs during his lifetime.

He loved the outdoors and was a big animal lover. Billy was very helpful with others. He loved his parents, son and family very deeply and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his son, William L. (Josie) Dickerson, his parents William F. & Elvie Atkinson of Britton, four sisters, Gloria (Ruben) Lozano of Adrian, Alvia Atkinson (Mike Wotring) of Hudson, Lora Atkinson of Britton and Kathy (Richard) Denniss of Tecumseh and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Kelly & Katherine Cole and Dillard & Edna Atkinson uncles, Dillard, Ralph, Howard, Raymond, Kenneth, Leroy, aunts, Betty and Ava, and niece, Cheyanne Denniss. Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor David King officiating.

Visitation will also be on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Billy’s family for final expenses. www.
