Mr. William Manuel Carter 87 of Big Point, MS passed away on February 12, 2019 in Mobile. Mr. Carter was born in Jackson County, MS on January 25,1932. He was a devoted member of Big Point United Methodist Church.

He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 45 years of dedicated service. He served his country proudly with the United States Navy. His passion was helping others and he was a loving family man.

He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Emerson Carter, his parents Levis Carter and Eunice and Lytle Brown, his brother Wesley Carter, and his sister Hilda Tanner. He is survived by his children William Levis (Rita) Carter of Agricola,MS; Carol ( Allen) Elmore of Agricola, MS; and Cheryl (Cecil) Miller of Dallas TX; and his sister Judy (Andy) Payne of Manassas, VA. He will also be missed by his 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Saturday February 16, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street. Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will be Sunday February 17, 2019 beginning at 2:00 pm at Big Point United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to service time.

Rev. Andy Collette and Rev. Kevin Bradley will be officiating the service.

Burial will follow in Agricola Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are welcome to make a donate to the church he loved so dearly and served so faithfully.
