OBITUARY William Max Fowler December 25, 1933 – September 3, 2018 WILLIAM MAX FOWLER HICKORY – William Max Fowler, 84 of Hickory passed away at Catawba Valley Medical Center on September 3, 2018. Born on December 25, 1933 in Madison County, NC, Max was the son of the late Melvin James Fowler and Flora Jane Allison Fowler. He loved to go deer hunting with his nephews and friends.

Max also enjoyed watching all types of sports and was an avid bowler. Max was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jenkins Fowler of more than fifty years; his siblings, Danny Fowler, Pauline F. Propst, Milburn Lee Fowler and Frieda May Smart. Survivors include; brother, Paul David Fowler (PD); daughter, Karen F. Houser and husband Paul D. Houser; son, William Michael Fowler; two grandsons, Brian D. Eckard and Michael C. Fowler; two great grandsons, Gavin Eckard and Colin Eckard; one great granddaughter, Nicole Marie Fowler.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2:00pm at Catawba Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The Fowler Family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00pm at Catawba Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at www. cancer.org. Condolences may be left at www.
