OBITUARY William Moraell “Joe” Norris November 6, 1932 – October 11, 2018 William Moraell “Joe” Norris, 85, of Strong, met the Lord in heaven on October 11, 2018, after a short illness at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock. Born November 6, 1932, in Strong, he was the son of Davis Moraell Norris and Abbie Lucille Turbeville. He attended Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Strong for many years.

He was a proud member of Local Union 798 for 65 years where he travelled to many parts of the country working as a pipefitter for pipeline construction. Joe loved spending time with family and friends. He loved being outdoors every day.

He enjoyed traveling and pulling his travel trailer for new adventures. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather (Papaw). He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Dorothy Faye Hargett Norris; one son, Mr. Donovan Norris and his wife, Starlette, of Greenville, SC; three daughters, Mrs. Lucretia Norris Coulter and her husband, Ed, of Mountain Home, AR; Mrs. Ava Norris Jones and her husband, Scott, of Marion, LA; Mrs. Teresa Norris Evans and her husband, Mark, of Spring, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Billie Pratt of Natchitoches, LA; Mrs. Gail Green of Marion, LA.

Also surviving are ten grandchildren – Jason Norsworthy, David Norsworthy, Jessica Norris Fincher, Daniel Norsworthy, Kasey Jones Price, Morgan Norris Kelly, Ben Jones, Joseph Norsworthy, Anne Marie Evans Powers and Catherine Evans Bussey; and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Norsworthy, David Norsworthy, Daniel Norsworthy, Joseph Norsworthy, Ben Jones and Madison Bussey (grandsons). Visitation will be Saturday October 13 at 1:00 PM at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Strong immediately followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary.

Officiating the service will be Brother Danny Malone and assisted by Dr. Jason K. Norsworthy. Burial will follow at the Norris Cemetery. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Norris Cemetery Fund or Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
