William R Trinka Jr., 65, of Wayne, NJ passed away on November 30, 2018. Raised in Leonia, NJ, he was a resident of Wayne for 38 years. Bill began his career with Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ, and was most recently employed by Weigers Inc. in Clifton, NJ.

He worked as a heavy duty truck/trailer mechanic and welder. Bill was an accomplished bicyclist, but his true love was race cars. He would race his ’64 Chevy Nova, 331 cubic inch SBC in the modified eliminator class, and consistently ran low 11 seconds in the quarter mile.

He enjoyed listening to Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, where he learned to come home from work, wash up, and go racing in the streets. Bill is predeceased by his parents James B Van Orden and Dolores Van Orden, and his loving wife Bette. Bill is survived by his daughters, Ruth M Trinka of Hazlet, and Renee Galatioro (Mike), of Pompton Lakes.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 from 5:00Pm to 9:00PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35, Hazlet, NJ, 07730. A prayer service will be held during the visitation hours at approximately 8:00PM. In respect of Bill’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
