Obituary for William Shanklin Caldwell William Shanklin Caldwell, 94, died Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home, Carlisle, Kentucky. Born June 11, 1924 in Millersburg, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Frank Congleton and Mary Shanklin Caldwell. He was christened into the Millersburg Presbyterian Church, attended Millersburg Military Institute and graduated from Headquarters High School in 1943.

He was a lifelong farmer, horseman and loved all living things. Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Pauline Linville Caldwell, and a brother, Frank Congleton Caldwell, Jr., he is survived by a daughter, Mary Squires Caldwell, a son, William Reed Caldwell, two grandsons, Alexander Reed Caldwell and William Breckenridge Caldwell, and two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Reed Caldwell and Kyndra Alysse Caldwell. Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev.
