Obituary for William Vincent Plaster Print William Vincent “Vince” Plaster, 100, Springfield, passed away at 7:24 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in Mercy Hospital. He was born October 28, 1918 in Turners, MO to William and Cora Belle (Ruberson) Plaster. Vince served in the U S Army in Europe during World War II.

He retired from Frisco Railroad after working there for 35 years and drew retirement for 45 years. He enjoyed gardening and you could usually find him at lunch time at Cedars South Restaurant. He loved watching episodes of the Andy Griffith show.

William was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Virginia Plaster; a daughter, Marjorie Anne Plaster Drake; eight brothers, Herbert, Wilbur, Clifford, Fred, Richard, Don, Jack, and John; and his son-in-law Harry Followell. He is survived by his son, William “Ed” (Mary Jo) Plaster; daughter Linda K. Followell; nine grandchildren, Rob, Jeff (Carrie) and Melissa Followell, Chris (Rita) and Michelle Drake, Dana (Wes) Davis, David and Tim Plaster, and Julie (Justin Collins); six great-grandchildren, Sabrina Drake, Tate and Finn Followell, Tyler Plaster, twin sisters Alex and Faith Davis; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church .

Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 in Herman H.
