Willie Herman Cherry, 90, was born on October 29, 1928 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to the late David and Goldie (Idett) Cherry. He was one of 13 children. After relocating to Virginia, he met and married his wife Mary Elizabeth (Moses) Cherry.

They then moved to New York. He was a member of Shiloh Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, New York where he served on the Usher Board for over 20 years. In 2017 the Cherry’s relocated to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.

On March 12th, 2019 he took his eternal rest. He leaves to mourn a son, William Cherry (Nah-tarsha) of Emma’s, PA; sister, Goldie Mapp (David) of Portsmouth, VA; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Mary Elizabeth (Moses) Cherry.
