Willis’ Obituary Willis Lee James was born April 1, 1942 in Windyville, Missouri to Marshall James, Sr., and CleOpal (Tucker) James. He departed this life on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at his residence. Willis worked many years as a custodian for the Cairo Public Schools and the former Greenbrier Nursing Facility in Cairo, IL.

He attended West Kentucky Technical College for Culinary Arts. Willis was a people person and enjoyed hunting, joking and laughing with all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Diane (Lee) James, sister Viola (James) Lewis, brother-in-law Glenn Lewis, niece Vivian (Miller) Bullock and two sons, Marshall and Christopher.

Willis leaves to cherish his loving memories: his ex-wife Essie (Johnson) James of Cairo, IL. , 13 children: Opal James of Cairo, IL. , Willie James of Cairo, IL.

, Michael James of Villa Rica, GA. , Donna James of Paducah, KY. , Michael Lee of Cleveland, OH.

, Valerie James of Cairo, IL. , Te’ Keishia Williams of Cape Girardeau, MO. , also left are three nephews, Eric Miller, Gerad Miller and John Carlous (Michelle) Miller, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Willis Lee James will be held on Monday March 11, 2019 at the Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, IL with Rev. Dr. J. L. Posey officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, IL.

Arrangements were Entrusted to Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, IL.
