OBITUARY Wilma E. Franklin October 7, 1949 – September 29, 2018 Wilma Franklin, 68, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Kokomo. She was born on October 7, 1949 in Peru, Indiana to the late William and Nora (Wallace) Smith. Wilma had spent some time working at Delco, and then worked as a bartender for 14 years at The Cozy Lounge in Kokomo.

She had also once belonged to Morning Star Church in Kokomo. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Wilma is survived by her children, William Adams, John (Monica) Adams, Charles (Tina) Franklin, Angela (Melissa) Franklin, Gregory (Elisabeth) Franklin, and Chris (Todd) Merrick; brothers, David Smith, and Terry (Kim) Smith; sister, Jerrine Smith; grandchildren, Alexia Mendivil, Brayden Wynn, Richard Wynn, Chanse Franklin, Emilie Franklin, Austin Franklin, Ian Franklin, Jamie Chase, Trent Black, Zoey Lockhart, Zacharia Lockhart, and Anastasia Lockhart; and great-grandchildren, Jayla Black, Journey Houston, Kalann Cutsinger, Kimberlynn Cutsinger, Grace Lockhart, Ben Morris and Ricardo Mendivil. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her sons, Chad Adams and Tony Franklin; and brothers, Buck Smith and Gary Smith. There will be a public visitation for Wilma at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo on Friday, October 5th from 12-2, with a funeral service immediately following.
