OBITUARY James G. “Mike” Smith June 28, 1934 – November 20, 2018 James G. “Mike” Smith, 79, of Kokomo passed away at 3:15 PM Tuesday November 20, 2018 at Northwoods Village, Kokomo. Born June 28, 1939 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Ernest Granville Smith and Lily Mae (Russell) Smith. On July 20, 1984 in Caro, Michigan he married June Elizabeth (Carress), and she survives.

He was employed in retail most his life. He worked for Shift Shoes, The Shoe Corporation of America, and lastly Godby Home Furnishings. He was an avid I.U. Basketball fan.

He also enjoyed Sprint Car and winged Sprint Car racing. Survivors include his wife of over 34 years June Elizabeth Smith of Kokomo; one son Todd Granville Smith of Long Beach, California; two daughters Gina Smith of Elkhart, Indiana and Jodi Miller of Bristol, Rhode Island. There are also three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Ruth Ann Bucksot. James’ wishes were to be cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
