Wilma Eilene Engquist was born August 15, 1932 in Chanute, KS. the daughter of Helen M. and Delbert E. Williams. The older sister of Robert (Bob) T. Williams.

She attended Neosho County Schools in Chanute, KS. where she had numerous awards for perfect attendance and graduated in 1949. She moved to Wichita, KS.

and married Leon Nelson Engquist on August 28, 1950. Their only child, Kenneth was born October 14, 1951, where she was a homemaker and babysitter until 1968. Wilma (Enkie) Engquist worked at Wesley Hospital as a Nurses Assistant from 1968 until her retirement on December 1, 1994.

Her greatest loves were her many friends and family. Ken & Karen, her only granddaughter Audrey and husband Cryus and her two great-granddaughters Stella, and Marlie. She loved feeding the birds, squirrels, rabbits, possums and any other animal that came through her yard.

She touched numerous people with her generous gifts of crocheted Afghans. Her joy was making them and giving them away.
