Wilma Etta (Davis) Cope went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 1, 2018 at St. Thomas Highland’s Hospital. Wilma was born on September 19, 1930 in Bon Air, Tennessee to Chester Levon and Ruby Beatrice Davis. She was married to Willie Hebron Cope on December 20, 1946 in Rossville, Georgia.

Mr. Cope passed away on April 27, 1985 – A decorated veteran of the United States Army 36th Division in World War II in the European Theater of Operations. Wilma is survived by her children; Robert Lee (Susan) Cope of Mount Juliet, Ronald Eugene Cope of Sparta, Her sister; Joyce (James Edward) Land of Markleville, IN. Her grandchildren; Stacy Lynn (Terry) Chaffin, Tammy Renay (Tracy) Hughes, Tina Renay Cope, Step-grandchildren; Wesley, Danielle, Lance, and Olivia, Great-grandchildren; Caleb, Emily, Kateland, and Ava.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her mother and father, her sister – Nina Geraldine (Gerald) Sheets of W. Lafayette, IN, and her niece Nina Joyce. Her life’s work was caring for her children and grandchildren. Wilma loved gardening, flowers, fishing, crocheting, and traveling with her family.

The family would like to thank the hospital staff at St. Thomas Highlands. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Old Bon Air Cemetery.
