Obituary for John Crooks Jr Mr. John Elmer Crooks, age 79 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at his residence. Born Wednesday, June 21, 1939 in Carbon Hill, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Crooks and the late Opal Pearson Crooks.

He was survived by his wife, Janet Crooks, also of Sparta. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1963 until 1965. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Blue Springs Presbyterian Church with Andrew Smith officiating.
