Obituary for Wilma Jean Mercer Wilda Jean Mercer, 69 and resident of Greenfield Place, went to her forever home on Sunday December 17th, 2018. Born March 20th, 1949, daughter of Carl Everette and Wilma Deloris Knapp in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Wilda is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Gale Allen Mercer, who she adored and fondly spoke of often, sister Lydia and brother, Carl.

She is survived by brother, Robert. Wilda was a graduate of Groveport High School in 1968. Wilda and Gale spent time in and around central Ohio but spent most of their adult lives in southeast Franklin County.

After Gale’s passing, being close to Groveport suited her. Wilda did not attend one church but preferred to worship with friends in several. Most recently Wilda had been attending Good Shepherd Community, Madison Christian and was active in Saturday services offered at Greenfield Place as well as a weekly Bible study with other residents.

Wilda’s faith seemed to have blossomed of late which was evident in all aspects her life. Join family and friends for a time of celebration and remembrance at Myers-Woodyard Groveport Chapel, 587 Main Street, Groveport, Ohio 43125, at 11:00AM Saturday December 22nd, 2018. A memorial service will follow at 12:00PM.

Wilda will be buried alongside her beloved Gale at Glen Rest Memorial Estate at a future date.
