Woodrow “Woody” Allen Shaffer, age 54 of Uniontown, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home after a courageous battle with liver disease. He was born on September 9, 1964 in Uniontown, PA a son of the late William and Thelma Porter Shaffer. After graduation from Albert Gallatin High School Woody joined the U. S. Army and served in Dessert Storm.

He lived in Philadelphia, Pa for 20 years and recently returned to Uniontown. He was a great person, brother and uncle. left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Nancy Engle, Betty Grubbs, Shirley Miller, David Shaffer, Russell Shaffer, Robert Shaffer, Joseph Shaffer; special niece and nephew: Delta Burgess and Eddie Hagner, who he had a close relationship with; numerous nieces and nephews; special fur baby, Angel, who he loved dearly.

Woody’s family will receive friends from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA with full military rites and honors.
