Zeferino Cortez, 98, was called by the Lord on June 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Filomena Cortez, daughters: Graciela Cortez & Leticia Cortez and son, Jorge Cortez. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Fernando (Griselda) Cortez, Guadalupe (Santa Inez) Cortez, Gloria (Rodolfo) Martinez, Marco Antonio (Yolanda) Cortez, Hernan (Rosa) Cortez & Zeferinio (Maria del Carmen) Cortez, 26 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister, Hortencia (+Eduardo) Hernandez.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 5pm to 9pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be celebrated at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 8, 2018, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30am. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Hector Cortez, Javier Cortez, Marco Antonio Cortez, Jose Cortez, Zeferino Cortez & Antonio Cortez. Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gámez & Sons Funeral Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
