Obituary for Agnes Christiansen Agnes Rebecca Christiansen, age 88 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away at 1:15 pm, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Twin Towers Senior Living Community. She was born October 26, 1929 in Edgerton, Ohio the second child of Elmer and Hazel Koerner. She was a 1947 graduate of Edgerton High School, Edgerton, Ohio and a 1952 graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Agnes then worked 18 years as an editor at Standard Publishing in Cincinnati where she spent the majority of her time directing the Vacation Bible School department and holding workshops throughout the Midwest. She met Harold Christiansen through a mutual friend and they married in 1969 in Cincinnati and were devoted to each other for 49 years. When they decided to start a family, Agnes then worked part-time and was very active in her community and volunteering.

She served as PTA president at the elementary school and middle school levels, and was very involved at Westwood -Cheviot Church of Christ (now Whitewater Crossing Christian Church) serving as the Preschool Coordinator and a member of many committees. Agnes had a love for gardening and a love for music. It gave her great joy to play the piano for her grandchildren.

Agnes is survived by her husband, Harold, daughter JoAnne (Steve) Rafalo of Cincinnati, Ohio, two grandchildren, Makayla and Ian; three brothers, Roger (Alice) Koerner of Long Beach, California, Roy Koerner, of Edgerton, LaVon (Lisa) Koerner, of Wayne, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Vance, John and Mark. A celebration service will be held May 19th, at Twin Towers, Wilson Chapel at 11:00am, 5343 Hamilton Ave.
