Obituary for Lois Virginia Coy Lois Virginia Coy, beloved daughter of Joseph Oliver and Harriet Electa (nee Turrell) Coy, loving sister of Ruth (Robert) Ritter, Esther (Clyde) Small, and Joseph (Betty) Coy. Passed away June 23, 2018 in her New York home. Lois will be warmly remembered by nieces Sue Ellen Small, Sandra (Robert) Tubesing, and nephews Joseph (deceased), William, Thomas (Theresa) Coy and C. Emerson (Edie) Small, along with six great nieces and nephews.

Lois earned her business degree Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati and her advanced degree from New York University where she served in the Alumni Association. Lois worked in the New York sales division of the Olin Brass Company for 36 years until her retirement. Lois resided in Jackson Heights, Queens County New York from 1955 until her passing.

By family and friends she will be remembered as kind, caring and generous, and described by New York women as a ‘she-ro’. Her home was always open to visitors to whom tours of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Broadway show were followed by an eclectic dining experience. Lois loved American history.

In her youth she was very active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship, the DAR, Harrison Village Historical Society and the First Presbyterian Church of Harrison. Family will recall that Lois never forgot a birthday or Christmas remembrance. A celebration of Lois Coy’s life will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Harrison; Visitation from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM.

Burial to follow at Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Village Historical Society, First Presbyterian Church of Harrison or Charity of Donors Choice. Donations may be made the day of the services or you may mail your donation to the funeral home Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St. Harrison, OH 45030.
