Agnes Madeline McDougal Pierce, 89, of Hazel Green, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening. She was a devoted and faithful Christian woman and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hazel Green. In addition to loving God, she loved her family very much and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

In earlier years, she enjoyed singing in the choir at her church and was also in a gospel trio. She loved to cook for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Pierce; By her son, Bobby Glenn Pierce; By her great-grandson, Zachary Seth Fults; Her siblings: Horace McDougal, Elmer McDougal, Elvie McDougal, Carl McDougal, Beatrice Hubert, and Macie Cobb; Her parents, Harrison Cephus McDougal and Mary Ella Campbell McDougal.

Surviving family members include her grandchildren: Jeff (Suzi) Pierce, Gina (Deon) Tanner, and Melissa (Barry) Priest; Great-grandchildren: Jessica Pierce, Chasity Coats, Ryan Tanner, Walker Pierce, and Eli Pierce; 5 Great-great grandchildren; She is also survived by her sister, Reba Campbell, and many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family members. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating.

Burial will follow in Bevill’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Russel Hill Cancer Foundation of the Clearview Cancer Institute. (www.
