Obituary for Alan L. Longert Alan Longert, 81, Columbus, Ohio passed away the evening of Saturday November 17th surrounded by his family. Born February 5, 1937 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio to the late Meyer and Betty Longert, Alan graduated from Ohio Northern College of Pharmacy and The Ohio State University College of Medicine and served as a Major in United States Air Force. He was one of the first physicians to staff Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he served as Chief of Orthopedics, Chairman of Clinical Department Council, and as a member of Mt.

Carmel Foundation Board. He was also a member of the American Spine Society. He was a jazz music lover, long-time supporter of the Columbus arts community, and raced standard bred horses.

Alan is survived by his wife Ruth (Soller), daughter Audra, sister Karen Longert, cousins Cheryl Hussin and Gary Hussin, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be Tuesday, November 205t, at 11:00 AM at the Epstein Memorial Chapel, 32332 E. Main St. Burial will be at Forest Lawn – Temple Israel. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Longert Family Fund at Temple Israel Foundation, Mt.
