OBITUARY Albert Edgar Stanton Jr. March 8, 1937 – January 13, 2019 Albert Edgar Stanton, Jr., 81, of Brandon, passed from this life Sunday, January 13, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson. Please join his family for a Celebration of Life, 5:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Bert was born March 8, 1937, in Rayne, Louisiana, a son of the late Albert and Averill Stanton.

In 1960 he married the love of his life, Suzane Letz, and they were blessed to share 58 extraordinary years together. Bert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and enjoyed a lengthy career in the insurance industry. A loving, Christian husband and father, Bert truly loved his Lord.

He faithfully attended church, sang in the choir and held several interim Minister of Music positions in local churches throughout the years. He was a great soloist and loved singing duets with his wife. Bert’s love for sports served him well as he coached his son’s baseball and basketball teams in their youth.

As an avid sports fan he also enjoyed watching many different sports. Golf, baseball and football were his favorites. Bert’s favorite times were spent with his family.

For years they took trips to the beaches of Florida and to his family’s camp in Texas. Later, Bert and his wife traveled to many locations including Rome, Maggie Valley, NC, New Orleans, Callaway Gardens, and a particular favorite, Branson, Missouri, to enjoy many music shows. Gifted with a servant’s heart and unfailing desire to care for others, Bert will best be remembered for his immense sense of compassion and generosity.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Suzane Letz Stanton; sons, Wynndel Stanton and wife Rebecca, and Scott Stanton; daughter, Suellen Gallaspy and husband Bill; brother, Wynn G. Stanton and wife Jimmie; and grandchildren, Ashley Dedeaux, Ryan Dedeaux, Emma Stanton, Bailey Stanton, Carson Stanton, Joshua Gallaspy, and Jacob Gallaspy. Memorials may be made to Lakeside Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 5007, Brandon, MS 39047.
