Obituary of Albert Everly Jr. Albert E. “Bud” Everly, Jr. of Morgantown passed peacefully away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Tygart Center in Fairmont. Bud was born January 8, 1922 son of the late Albert Earl Everly Sr. and Laura Fletcher Everly. Bud was the past owner of Morgantown Printing & Binding Co., where he began his career as a stock boy working his way up to general manager and purchased the business in 1979.

He retired in 1994 and sold the business to Andy Walls. He was born at the Back waters of Cheat Lake in 1922 and attended University High School where he graduated in 1939; he was senior class president and a member of the Key Club. In 1943, he joined the US Army, where he served as a B-17 aircraft and engine mechanic; he served in France and Italy.

He was a sergeant in the 773rd Bombardment Squadron, 463rd Bombardment Group and honorably discharged in 1945. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and was scoutmaster of Troop 144 of the First Baptist Church. Albert is survived by his two sons Albert “Rod” Everly III and Scott Griffith Everly; Grandchildren Megan Edwards, Laura Everly, Cassandra Daugherty, Kathleen Everly, Candice Everly, Jason Smith, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters which he helped raise during the depression; Milton Everly, Donald Everly, Vida Coker, Mary Fetsch and Jeannie Adams. A special thanks to Norma Jean Banton for her 50+ years of friendship, to Rodney Banton, brother in law John Adams for all his phone calls, Norma Jean’s grandchildren: Melissa, Michelle, Jennifer, and Rodney Jr., Hospice, and The Tygart Center for their special care. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday, September 23, from 2-5 PM and Monday, September 24, from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Rev.

Nathaniel Hudson officiating. Interment will take place at East Oak Grove Cemetery with full military rights conducted by Camp Dawson and VFW Post 9916. Online condolences may be made at www.
