Alex was born on October 5, 1952 in Coapopa, AL, the son of the late Alex & Nellie (Nailor) Jackson Sr He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.

Alex was employed as a self-employed janitor for many years. His hobbies included listening to music and spending time with his family & friends. Survivors include his children, Deon Thompkins, Christel Demmings, Dionia Scott; brothers, Frederick Jackson, Henry (Debra) Jackson, Johnnie Jackson; sisters, Annie (Everett) Chatman, Lariena Jackson, Elizabeth Calvert, Margaret (James) Campbell, Lucy (Michael) Powell; and 5 grandchildren.
