Poland – Alfred Joseph Stefano Sr., 96 of Poland, Ohio, died Saturday morning February 9, 2019 at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born January 18, 1923 in Lowellville, OH, son of John and Mary (Paladetto) Stefano and had been a lifelong area resident. Alfred was an Army veteran of World War II and had worked as a Repairman for the P&LE Railroad.

He also served as a police officer in Lowellville. Alfred will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Besides his wife, the former Rose Gerak, whom he married October 21, 1947, he leaves three daughters, Diane Perry of Poland, Alane (Gary) Kling of Youngstown, and Annette Iudiciani of Lowellville; two sons, Alfred “Buddy” (Shari) Stefano Jr. of Callahan,Fla.

and William Stefano of Youngstown; two sisters, Mary Sackin of Pa. and Lucy Brooks of Austintown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters, and his son-in-law, Jack Perry.
