Lincoln – Alice H. Wagner, 88, of Hillside Avenue, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert R. Wagner. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Jacob and Faye (Honoush) Hermiz, she had lived in Lincoln for the past sixty years.
Mrs. Wagner was a teacher in the Lincoln Public Schools at Fairlawn Elementary and Lonsdale Elementary Schools for twenty-five years. She loved her students and her teaching days. She was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School, Class of 1948, and a graduate of Rhode Island College, where she earned her B. Ed.
and M. Ed. She was a former member of Central Falls Congregational Church, until its closing in 1973; a member of Park Place Congregational Church, Pawtucket; and most recently attended Rehoboth Congregational Church. She was a proud member for more than forty-five years of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Beta Chapter, of Women Educators.
She was the devoted mother of Donna R. Hood (Bruce) of Muskegon, Michigan, David R. Wagner (Jennifer) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Robert R. Wagner (Andrea) of Millis, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Hood (Sara), Whitney Hood, David Wagner (Rebecca), Rebecca Rebman (William), Joshua Wagner (Samantha), Matthew Wagner (Chandler), Jessica Wagner, and Elisabeth Wagner; her adored great grandchildren, Jacob Hood and Hannah Wagner; and dear family members, sisters-in-law Grace St. Pierre, Annemarie Leroux, Barbara Townson, and Mary Hermiz, and brother-in-law William Wagner (Judith); and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the loving sister of the late Benjamin Hermiz, Hannah John, Faye Shad, Jacob Hermiz, Thomas Hermiz, Agnes Pettus, and Louis Hermiz.
Her funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Robert R. Wagner & Alice H.
