Alice Jean Smith, 87, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born in Speedway, Indiana on July 11, 1931, a daughter of the late Lester A. and Henrietta Lee (Deets) Taylor. Jean attended Zionsville Schools.

On July 16, 1949 she was married to Richard M. Smith in Zionsville. He preceded her in death. She worked 20 years at Hooks in Zionsville.

After working at Hooks, Jean worked at Frazee Gardens in Brownsburg until retirement at the age of 80. Jean loved gardening and planting flowers. In addition, she enjoyed her work and family.

Survivors include: Son: Thomas M. Smith – Brownsburg, Indiana Daughter: Cynthia Smith and husband, G.W. – Stanberry, Missouri Six Grandchildren Fourteen Great Grandchildren Three Great-Great Grandchildren In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Richard Smith and David Smith. Graveside service will be held at a later date at Hutton Cemetery in Zionsville, Indiana. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her care.
