Obituary for Alice May Ritter (Wilhelm) Alice May Ritter, age 90, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 1st at The Lakes of Monclova, while under the loving care of the staff from “The Lakes” and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Alice was born on June 22, 1928 in Toledo, OH to George and Clara (Westfall) Wilhelm. She attended Libby High School and upon graduation, worked in the office at Sealtest Dairy.

On August 9, 1948, Alice married her husband, of 69 years, Carl Ritter. Alice left Sealtest Dairy to dedicate her time and energy to being a stay-at-home mom. After her children had grown, she found a great deal of pleasure working at Kay Ceramics, the Cookie Lady at Southwyck Mall, The Paper Clip and Joanie’s Hallmark store at Southland Shopping Center.

Alice was the ultimate ‘people person’. She loved belonging and participating in activities and events that provided her an opportunity to express her love and care for others and receive the same in return. Alice was a member of the Triune Chapter #344 Order of the Eastern Star (OES) and was very active for more than 35 years.

She held numerous offices within the organization, all of which held a great deal of importance to her. Alice also loved her church deeply. She was baptized and married at St. Petri Lutheran, Toledo, OH and later joined St. Lucas Lutheran Church, also in Toledo.

Alongside of her husband, Carl, she was a dedicated and active member for many, many years. She loved singing in the choir, working in the Thrift Shop and volunteering for numerous activities and events. Alice’s ultimate passion was her love for her three sons; Rich, Tom and Bob.

She talked of each with such admiration and pride; smiling at the mention of their names and brimming with joy whenever they were in her presence. Her boundless love for family and friends is Alice’s hallmark and those privileged enough to share this with her are forever grateful. Alice was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Carl and her parents.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Ritter (Lyn), Thomas Ritter (Sue), and Robert Ritter (Lori); grandchildren, Amy Ritter, Nick Ritter, Melissa Warncke, Jennifer Ross, Theresa Ritter, Meghann Coci, Kathleen Coci; great grandchildren, Kaysie Gunn, Kyle Gunn, Zach Taft and Tyler Taft; sister Marie Sheets, brother Clarence Wilhelm (Barbara) and nieces and nephews.
