Obituary for Alice V. Gomez Alicia (Alice) Vargas Gomez, 83, of Waukegan, passed away on November 11, 2018 at home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born April 28, 1935 to Lorenzo and Antonia Reyna Vargas. Alice was a very nurturing and loving mother, grandmother, and great grand mother.

Many of her hobbies include knitting, cross word puzzles, and word games. She enjoyed gardening and spend much of her time caring for her plants and flowers. Alice is survived by her sister Mary Vargas Whittington; her beloved children Juanita (Roberto) Gomez Chavez, Cesar (Manuela) Augusto Gomez, Javier (Angela) Gomez, Gloria (Ignacio) Gomez Garibay, Alefredo Gomez, Josie Gomez Zavala, Amelia (Antonio) Gomez Alcalan; grandchildren Julia Maria Gomez, Angela Gomez, Jesus Chavez, Alicia M. Chavez Diaz, Roberto Chavez Jr., Candice Marie Vasquez, Alicia Alcalan Cruz, Ignacio Cesar Garibay, Gabriela Victoria Garibay, Nubia Gomez, Cesar Augusto Gomez Jr., Yesenia Gomez, Anita Gomez-Jones, Anthony Gomez, Erin Cecilia Gomez; great grandchildren Lola Damaris Vasquez, Antonio “Tony” Zuniga, Anthony “Noni” Alcalan Cruz, Damien “D” Alcalan Cruz, Jessica Gomez, Anthony Gomez, Camila Lopez Gomez, Daniela Lopez Gomez, Lesly Lopez, Fabian Lopez, Christopher Arroyo, Luis Diaz Jr., Isabella Diaz, Jaylen Javier Chavez, Jesus Chavez Jr., Alexandra Gabriele Chavez, Milo Jones, Ruby Jones, and Dove Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Cesar Agosto Gomez; parents Lorenzo Vargas and Antonia Reyna Vargas; siblings Justina Vargas, Maria Vargas, Lorraine Vargas Vasquez, Leo Vargas, Clementina Vargas, and Paul Vargas. Visitation for Alice will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan, IL 60085.

Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon, with Father James Merold officiating. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories Cemetery. For more information please call, (847) 623-0495.
