Allen “Shane” Matthews, Sr., 40, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 6, 2018. A lifelong resident of Davie County, he was born September 7, 1977, the son of Robyn Dale Matthews and Mitzi Matthews Lewis. Shane attended Davie County High School and has since worked various jobs in manufacturing.

He enjoyed music, fast cars (particularly Ford Mustangs) and dirt bikes. But he especially loved his family and was loved by them. They affectionately referred to him as “Big Daddy”.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Mandala Powers “Mandee” Matthews; two sons, Brandon “Caleb” Tyler (19) and his fiancé, Dharla Lawson, and Allen Shane Matthews, Jr. (13); one daughter, Delaney Annalynn Matthews (6), all of Mocksville; one sister, Melissa Ashley of Mocksville; and a host of friends and extended family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM Monday evening, June 11, at Davie Funeral Chapel. A service will follow at 7:00 PM in the chapel.
