ALMA DENNY ROYSTER age 87, of 8122 Raymond Royster Road, Roxboro, NC died peacefully Monday morning, December 10, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Royster was born February 19, 1931 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Jessie William & Ruth Pritchard Denny and was wife of 55 years to the late Leland Ray Royster. She was retired after farming most of her life and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church where she played the organ for 46 years and was active in the WMU.

Mrs. Royster enjoyed being outside and tending to her flowers. Surviving are three children, Gary R. Royster & wife, Cathy of Roxboro, NC, Beverly R. Long & husband, Everette of Hurdle Mills, NC, Timothy F. Royster of Roxboro, NC, three grandchildren, Jeremy Royster, Kyle Long, Monica Cash, brother, Harold Denny & wife, Dorothy, and brother-in-law, Elvyn Royster & wife, Betty. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Royster is preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Bullock and brother, Clarence Denny.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Cline and the Rev. Victor Blackwell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church and other times at the home. Pallbearers will be Wayne Collie, Winston Elliott, Sr., Leamon Harris, Freddie Hobbs, Kyle Long, Barney Poole, Barry Poole, Scottie Poole, and Jeremy Royster.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Denny and Danny Bullock. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Olive Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 7588 Dirgie Mine Road, Roxboro, NC 27574 Arrangements are by Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services, 1810 Durham, Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
