Obituary for Alonzo Juan Gorena Jr. Alonzo Juan Gorena Jr., 90, a lifetime resident of Mercedes Texas went to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2018. He was born June 20, 1927 to Alonzo J. and Rosa Benavidez Gorena in Mercedes, Texas. He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law: Rosann (Luis)Huerta in Mercedes, Texas, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Hector(Martha)Gorena of Mercedes Texas, Jaime(Mary)Gorena of Raymondville, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Esther Gorena and daughter; Gloria Ann Rodriguez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 1:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 4, 2018. We will depart Rudy Garza of Peace at 9:30a.m. for a 10:00a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church.

Interment will then follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Weslaco Texas. Mr. Gorena was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is and will forever be loved and missed by all he knew.
