Alvin Paul Hamby, age 84, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Tradewater Health and Rehab Center, Dawson Springs, KY. Mr. Hamby was born December 11, 1933 in Christian County, KY to the late Thomas Ulis Hamby and Ruth Lee Bennett. He retired after working 26 years as an underground coal miner, retiring with Island Creek Coal Company.

Mr. Hamby is survived by two… Read More » daughters ~ Retha Todd of Dawson Springs, KY, and Arlena (Stuart) Glenn of Oklahoma City, OK, and one brother ~ James Olis Hamby of Hopkinsville, KY; four grandchildren ~ Mark Edward Todd, Justin Dean Todd, Matthew Adam Todd and Alistair Hamby Glenn; and one great-grandchild ~ Emma Rose Cress.

Preceding Mr. Hamby in death are his parents, First Wife ~ Ada Mae “Nancy” Hamby, Second Wife ~ Linda Kaye Hamby, two sisters ~ Virginia Eudena Adams and Mary Irene Adams; a brother ~ Raymond Alton Eli; and a grandson ~ Anthony Arnold Todd. Visitation for Mr. Alvin Paul Hamby will be Sunday ~ October 28, 2018 from noon until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. David Bayer officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hawkins Cemetery, Christian County, KY where a US Army Honor Guard from Ft. Campbell will present a military honor service prior to burial at the Hawkins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Edward Todd, Justin Dean Todd, Matthew Adam Todd, Rick Bowles, Jeff Knight and David Eli.
