OBITUARY Amalia Olmeda July 26, 1932 – July 14, 2018 Amalia Olmeda, 85, passed away July 14, 2018 at home in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on July 26, 1932 in Eagle Lake, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Olmeda; a son, Ernesto Olmeda and two grandchildren.

Amalia was a talented seamstress, blessing many of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the gift of the most beautiful quilts. She loved to knit, cross stitch, embroidery and crochet, in addition to woodworking and carpentry. Although she was a housewife most of her life, she worked as an LVN in between being a mother to 9 children.

Her love of birds was a comforting symbol of a sparrow that God did not forget. She is survived by her children, Johnny “Juan” Olmeda and wife, Teresa, Israel Olmeda and wife, San Juana “Janie”, Gracie Garza and husband, Ray, Yolanda Ramirez and husband, Carlos “Chale”, Beatrice Vela and husband, Manuel “Nino”, Velma Guajardo, Marcos Olmeda III and husband Stephen, and Edward Olmeda and wife, Elisa “Lisa”. She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Chapel Service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
